The Dream

Snowy Mountains Lewistown Montana

“It is a good cause.  Because of our losses,we understand others’ losses.  We would like to see a hospice house here.  If we can help in some way, that is good.”
Donna and Rich, Hospice Supporters

For years now, we have dreamed of a residential hospice facility in Lewistown that would serve patients who are no longer able to independently care for themselves in their own homes.  This would include serving hospice patients whose care exceeds the capabilities of available caregivers.  A local residential facility will allow patients to remain close to familiar surroundings as well as friends and family and to continue care with their local physician and the familiar Hospice of Central Montana clinical staff.

Now

Currently patients requiring residential hospice services are discharged from Hospice of Central Montana and transferred to a residential hospice outside of our service area.  Taking them away from familiar surroundings is traumatic for them and their loved ones.  We've seen many other patients whose care would have been enhanced by the availability of a local residential hospice facility.

If the Dream Becomes a Reality

In a effort to control the cost of the project, our preliminary plan is to acquire an existing building in Lewistown, refurbish it to create a "home like" setting, and assure its viability into the future through an endowment.

Hospice of Central Montana has already raised considerable funds towards a residential hospice house.  An endowment will be raised over five years and will assure that the house will provide patient care well into the future.  Your contribution can be directed to the capital fund or the endowment.
